Nvidia RTX 3050 and 3050 Ti laptop GPUs promise budget-friendly performance
American technology company Nvidia is expanding its mobile graphics chip lineup of GeForce RTX 30-Series GPUs with the new RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti.
GeForce RTX 3050-based laptops, which start at $799 (around PHP 38,000), boast immersive ray tracing in the latest video games, performance acceleration, and faster video editing.
Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 30-Series graphic processing units are powered by Nvidia’s Ampere architecture, which provides an array of AI-powered enhancements. The company’s RTX platform includes dedicated RT Cores for ray tracing and Tensor Cores for AI that enable quick and cutting-edge technology.
Particularly, the deep learning super sampling (DLSS) feature has AI rendering that boosts frame rates with uncompromised image quality, allowing gamers to turn up settings and resolutions for an unmatched visual experience. Images comparable to and sometimes even better than native resolution are produced.
Nvidia’s newest laptops based on RTX 3050 and 3050 Ti GPUs are said to deliver huge boosts in performance thanks to the DLSS feature and enable 60 FPS ray tracing in video games. This means that gamers will experience significantly faster performance without noticeable compromises. (Read: GUIDE: Should you get a GPU upgrade right now?)
Moreover, RTX 3050 Ti laptop GPUs can deliver 144+ FPS and sub-25ms system latency in competitive games such as Overwatch and Valorant. The Nvidia Reflex feature’s Low Latency mode enables users to significantly decrease system latency, allowing them to see enemies sooner, shoot earlier, and increase chances of victory online.
Samsung’s new Galaxy Book Odyssey, the South Korean tech company’s first gaming laptop, will feature the RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti graphics chips. Aside from the Galaxy Book Odyssey, Nvidia’s new entry-level graphics chips are included in over 140 laptop models.
The GPUs, however, are comparatively weaker (thus cheaper) in terms of overall specs than their predecessor, the RTX 3060.
Notwithstanding, the RTX 3050 Ti with DLSS consistently executed 60+ FPS on video games such as Call of Duty: Warzone, Watchdogs: Legion, and Minecraft, based on tests conducted by Nvidia at 1080p resolution, 16GB RAM, and medium settings.
The RTX 3050 Ti is said to offer generally decent gaming performance under the condition that it runs games without increased VRAM requirements using 1080p resolution.
