KFC announces “KFConsole” – gaming PC and chicken warmer in one

Over the years, a wide variety of gaming consoles have appeared on the market, enticing gamers all over the world to try them out and pick out their favorite. This has brought about the so-called “console wars,” where fans of gaming systems claim their favorite console to be the best. But one console aims to be a cut above the rest and put an end to the “console wars” by promising functionality unlike any other—what do you get when you put together a gaming computer and fried chicken warmer? Well, you would most likely end up with the KFConsole.

On December 23, 2020, KFC Gaming released a trailer of its upcoming console via Twitter, calling it the “next level in gaming innovation,” and rightfully so! Computer hardware manufacturer Cooler Master released an overview of what to expect from the KFConsole—it is not only geared to be a top-quality gaming system, it also features a built-in Chicken Chamber that will keep the console from getting too hot. As an added feature, Cooler Master’s patented Chicken Chamber will also use the console’s airflow system and natural heat to warm up food. As a nod to KFC’s famous fried chicken, Cooler Master talks about how the console will allow players to enjoy their food while playing their favorite games. Think about it: what could be better than video games and a plate of finger-lickin’ fried chicken? (READ: Microsoft will not divulge sales numbers for the Xbox Series X and S)

The console itself appears to be in the shape of the iconic KFC bucket, which will be brought to life by Cooler Master itself. The KFConsole is said to be VR-ready, can boot up games in a matter of seconds thanks to its ability to run games at 240 FPS, and contains an Intel Nuc 9 extreme compute element, which will allow for less space consumption and amp up the system’s performance. It also allows 4K gaming with ray tracing and it promises that the graphics will run without a hitch, thanks to Asus’ top-of-the-line technology. According to Cooler Master, “the KFC console will stay the most powerful console for generations to come.”

The console was initially revealed to the public back in June via the KFC Gaming Twitter page, but netizens dismissed it as a gag. Some skeptics are still wary of looking forward to the launch of the KFConsole because no release date or pricing has been revealed yet. However, Intel representative Mark Walton took to Twitter, saying: “Yes it’s real. Yes, it’s powered by Intel. And yes, it has a chicken warmer.” This indicates that the KFConsole will be more similar to having a custom-built computer rather than being a new system altogether. However, we still have to wait a little longer for more information on this hot, new gaming console.
