Monster Hunter Rise PC release date finally revealed
Monster Hunter Rise, one of the best games of the year, finally has a release date for PC. During its Tokyo Game Show, game developer Capcom revealed a lot of things about the game: new details—including a release date—about the Sunbreak expansion, as well as more information about the highly anticipated PC release of Monster Hunter Rise.
The latest addition to the acclaimed franchise will be released on January 12, 2022, and a demo will be available as early as this month. The PC release will have support for 4K resolution and ultrawide monitors, as well as better framerates and textures and improved keyboard and mouse controls.
The Sunbreak expansion will feature Yoshitake Suzuki at the helm. The add-on, which will also be released to both PC and Switch next year, will have players start from Kamura Village before moving to the Sunbreak—an eerie world that features a ruined castle under a blood-red sky. The ancient dragon Malzeno will be the game’s iconic beast, and the crablike Shogun Ceanataur from Monster Hunter 2 will also make an appearance. More details about the expansion will be released in the coming months.
Meanwhile, Monster Hunter Rise players will have access to a paid voice pack, featuring ProZD and Debra Wilson at the end of this month. In addition, players will also see teasers for new crossovers with Ghosts n’ Goblins and Sonic the Hedgehog. (Read: Why next-generation consoles matter, even if you’re solely a PC gamer)
