The ONE Esports MPL Invitational Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament returns this November
Global esports media platform ONE Esports, together with Mobile Legends: Bang Bang developer MOONTON Games, are set to host the fourth annual ONE Esports MPL Invitational (MPLI).
For this year’s event, competitors will descend upon the city of Jakarta, Indonesia, to compete in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang from November 15 to 19, 2023. What makes this edition a game-changer? This year’s event signifies a notable shift as MPLI transitions from the virtual realm to the physical world, welcoming international teams from North America (NA), the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and China for the very first time.
The competition is set to kick off with the Group Stage running from November 15 to 16, followed by the Playoffs and Grand Final scheduled for November 17 to 19. The chosen battleground for this showdown is the GBK Basketball Hall in Jakarta, where qualifying teams will vie for supremacy.
For those unable to be physically present, a digital lifeline awaits, as ONE Esports will broadcast the action across various online platforms, including Facebook, TikTok, Twitch, X, and YouTube. Language barriers won’t be an issue, as all livestreamed content will be accessible in Bahasa Indonesia, English, and Tagalog.
Expect a fierce battle to ensue, with 16 formidable teams representing eight different countries and regions. The ultimate prize: a slice of the coveted US$100,000 (PhP5.5 million) prize pool.

New fan voting system
In addition to moving offline, the ONE Esports MPL Invitational 2023 introduces an all-new fan voting system. With this system, fans will be able to vote for which teams will be in the top eight of the first pool of the Group Stage. The remaining teams will then be assigned to the second pool, where they will be randomly split into four Groups.

Fan voting is currently underway, The results of the vote are set to be announced on Nov. 7 with final group placements revealed on Nov. 10.
The tournament itself will feature a double-elimination bracket with teams losing in the upper, winners bracket still having one more chance in the lower, losers bracket. Matches up until the final will be best-of-three (first to two wins). However, the grand final will be best-of-five (first to three wins).
