Final Fantasy VII Rebirth finally has a release date

At Sony’s recent State of Play livestream, Square Enix finally revealed the release date for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The highly-anticipated sequel to 2020’s Final Fantasy VII Remake arrives on PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024.

The announcement of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth‘s release date came alongside a new trailer that showed both new and returning characters—including a glimpse at fan-favorite Vincent Valentine—as well as some of the locations players will be able to visit when the game arrives next year.

In addition to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth‘s release date, Square Enix also dropped details on the game’s Collector’s Edition package. This package will include a game case with a reversible cover, a steelbook case featuring Cloud and Zack, The Art of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth artbook, special material players can use in-game and a one-winged figure of Sephiroth. The reversible cover for the Collector’s Edition uses a new piece of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth key art that Square Enix recently revealed alongside the release date.

The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Collector’s Edition is set to retail for $349.99 (approximately Php 19,800). Die-hard fans can already pre-order it over at Square Enix’s online store.

As the sequel to the contentious FFVII Remake, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth looks to deviate further from the 1997 original while also exploring the implications of the changes that FFVII Remake made. Like its predecessor, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is launching first on PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024. When it will get a release date for PC is currently unknown.
