RTX 4070 Ti price revealed by Nvidia

Nvidia finally revealed how much the graphics card formerly known as the 12GB RTX 4080 will cost. The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti will have a price of $799 when it launches on January 5, 2023.

Nvidia first revealed the card now known as the RTX 4070 Ti back in October of 2023 as a variant of the RTX 4080 with less video memory. However, reports later confirmed that the card would also have weaker specs overall compared to the 16GB version of the RTX 4080. This fact caused a fair bit of backlash which led to Nvidia “unlaunching” the card.

Leaks from industry insiders instead stated that Nvidia would relaunch the card as the RTX 4070 Ti, which is exactly what is happening now. (Read: Nvidia to relaunch the 12GB RTX 4080 … as the RTX 4070 Ti)

The newly rechristened RTX 4070 Ti’s $799 (Php 45,000) suggested retail price (SRP) also makes it much cheaper than the RTX 4080 (with its $1,199 SRP) and even AMD’s Radeon RX 7900XT and RX7900XTX. The latter two from AMD (especially the 7900XTX) have been hailed providing better value int terms of price-to-performance than the RTX 4080. While the RTX 4070 Ti won’t be outperforming AMD’s offerings, its lower price should allow it to compete in value with those.

It should be noted, however, that the RTX 4070 Ti will not have a “Founders Edition” model from Nvidia sold SRP. Instead, the card will come solely from Nvidia’s add-in board partners who may price their versions of the card differently.

As for specifications, as earlier reported, the RTX 4070 Ti features an AD104 GPU with 7860 CUDA cores, comes with 12GB of GDR6X memory and is rated for 285W of thermal die power (TDP).

In terms of actual performance, Nvidia claims that the RTX 4070 Ti outperforms the previous generation RTX 3090 Ti, something that’s backed up by leaked 3DMark performance data for the card. All while only having half the power draw of the latter.
