PayMongo, one of the country’s fastest-growing fintech startups, is launching its PayMongo accelerator program, which aims to serve micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Participants of the accelerator program will have zero transactions fees for two months across all payment channels.
The accelerator program will allow MSMEs to have a leg up in a competitive business ecosystem, says Paymongo Chief Growth Officer Luis Sia.
“It brings us back to the heart of our purpose, why we do what we do. Through this program, we’re confident that we will be able to help a lot of small businesses grow and be competitive in emerging markets like the Philippines,” he added.

Sia—together with CEO Francis Plaza, chief technology officer Jaime Hing III and Edwin Lacierda—launched PayMongo in 2019 to improve online payments, which at the time was tedious and inaccessible. From then, it’s become the first Philippine fintech to receive funding from Y Combinator, the startup accelerator behind Airbnb and Stripe. The PayMongo Accelerator program is open to businesses that aren’t activated PayMongo merchants or existing activated merchants. If you’re interested, you can sign up before August 31, 2021, and pass the application and screening processes.
Those who make the cut will not only get a two-month fee waiver across all payment channels, but they will also receive marketing assistance and features across all of PayMongo’s social media platforms—as well as invitations to exclusive webinars and content. They will also have access to PayMongo partners who can assist them with all aspects of their online businesses—from financial discipline to software development and e-commerce fulfillment.
