Street Fighter 6 getting animé collab with Spy x Family

Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 will be having a collaboration event with the hit animé Spy x Family to celebrate the release of the latter’s latest theatrical release.

The Spy x Family Code: White Special Vs Street Fighter 6 collaboration celebrates the release of the Spy x Family CODE: White animated movie. To announce the collaboration, Capcom released the following Street Fighter 6 – Spy x Family CODE: White Special Collaboration Animé that has Chun-li squaring off against Yor Forger from the Spy x Family anime.

As for the collab itself, the trailer hints at collaboration items for the player’s custom character. These will likely allow to dress up as characters from the animé, similar to how the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collab worked a few months back.

For those interested in the chance to dress up their Street Fighter 6 characters as Yor, Lloyd, or any other possible Spy x Family characters, they’ll have to wait until January 9, 2024. The Spy x Family CODE: White animated movie, on the other hand, arrives in Japanese theaters on December 22, 2023, with a streaming release on Crunchyroll sometime in 2024.

In the meantime, Street Fighter 6 players can now have the option of a third costume for their mains from the playable cast (as opposed to their custom characters). Capcom recently added a host of new outfits in a recent update. (Read: Street Fighter 6 finally giving new costumes to its playable cast)

The new outfit 3 for each character will cost 300 in-game Fighter Coins, which translates to around $6 (PhP330). While the prices are just about inline with most cosmetics in modern games, they’re a bit pricey compared to previous Street Fighter games. In addition, the cheapest Fighter Coin pack contains 250 FC, which means players looking to buy just one may have to spend more than the individual cost indicates.

Street Fighter 6 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series consoles.
